 Shahdara, Delhi

Shahdara, Delhi

Shahdara is a region in the east- north-east part of Delhi and the name means “door of kings”. This could be a reference to the fact that it served as a gateway from Delhi to Meerut. From a small market place around the Chandrawali village, Shahdara has come a long way since the 16th century, when it came into being. Today, it is a delightful mixture of old and new, where a lot of cultures come together to give it a unique identity. Sweets and snacks from this region of Delhi are nothing short of a blast from the past since they carry all the flavors of India’s glorious cuisines while being faithful to the new age and demands!
